This will be my first time participating in Mailbox Monday hosted by Marcia at The Printed Page. It seems like a great way to keep track of what books are coming into my house each week. I try to enter things into my LibraryThing library quickly, but I tend to procrastinate (or more often I just get too lazy errr I meant busy)
Now before you start thinking all I do is sit around reading and eating bonbons (I wish!!) here is what my not-so-lovely mail-lady (I need to blog-rant about her someday) brought me this week!
Random Cool Book Snags
A few weeks back I won a fabulous Hachette Box O’ Books from the equally fabulous Dewey at Hidden Side Of The Leaf but one of the books - Roads To Quoz by William Least Heat-Moon -went AWOL. But it ended up finding it’s way to me today. | Oval Office Occult: True Stories of White House Weirdness by Brian Thomsen was what I snagged this month from LibraryThing ER. Perfect read for Halloween! |
From MiniBookExpo I received How To Talk About Books You Haven't Read by Pierre Bayard. This very cute book takes a humorous look at how people read or don’t read. | This awesome looking new paranormal romance entitled Red was a great surprise that I won from the author Jordan Summers giveaway. |
ARC Arrivals (I see reviews coming)
Bargain Bin Buys
So what books did you welcome into
your home this week?
Enquiring minds want to know … and besides at this point my TBR pile is a lost cause so I may as well drool over your finds too!

what a great haul! I have Lydia Bennet's Story (look for my review this week), Pemberley by the Sea, and the reluctant widow!
Some of these others look great too, like the Hex Appeal and the Oval Office Occult!
Holy cow, that is a lot of books! Lucky you!
Kim
I am very much drooling over The Living Dead.
Enjoy the Scott Westerfeld - those are some of my favorites!
Great way to display your books for the week, it really sets them off.
I won the Hachette box of books from Tina/bookshipper/nitestar, and got the original 9 too. When I rec'd *Roads to Quoz* last week I couldn't figure out where it came from, and was worried that I had promised a review (that I don't have time for right now). Phew! Just an outright gift :)
Let me know when you review
Lydia Bennet's Story and I'll put a link to it from mine. I enjoyed the book.
By the way, Call of the Wild is one of my all-time favorites!
You got lots of goodies. I did a bit of book shopping over the weekend and got some good bargains too. Love that.
Holy Moley, Batman! You should've put a Bib Warning at the beginning of your post--I'm sitting here drooling! Lydia Bennett would be the first book I snatched from your haul, and I know you have some good reading ahead with the Westerfelds.
Wow - what a great week!!
I just love Georgette Heyer's books - I grew up reading them (my Mother deemed them decent enough for her daughter to read ;) )

Welcome to Mailbox Monday! Your haul inspired this post...
Wowser, that is some haul of books. Mine pales in comparison at 3 books. lol.
Welcome to Mailbox Monday! You got a fabulous haul - can't wait to start reading reviews!
Welcome to Mailbox Monday Joanne. I really like how you've displayed the book covers.
So, is the Amazon age range correct? Is Bryson doing YA now?
Shana
Literarily
Shana - the Bryson book is a wonderful book for kids, it is an oversized hardcover that is illustrated on every page. It would be so handy for kids doing school projects, covering everything from space, earth, dinosaurs to germs. I would say a five-six year old could read many of the fact bubbles and the in depth text would be great for the more advanced reader. It would also be fun to read together with younger kids.
So jealous that you have Red already! LOL
I'm behind on putting books into LT too. And I haven't bought any recently, so I don't know what's up with that.
Ha! I'm especially intrigued by the White House Weirdness book! How...weird! :D
oh my gosh, so many books, so little time! those look like some great reads!
Bliss To You!!! I want that one. I love Koontz.
I have the Georgette Heyer book in my TBR.

Welcome and thank you for stopping by the 'mailbox'. Until your post this week I think Shana held the top stop for the most books listed in a single MM post.
Wow, quite a haul of books! Sadly, few books have darkened my door of late, and I'm not quite sure why. It's not like I'm not expecting a ton, I am. As a matter of fact, I won that same book box giveaway of Dewey's that you won, and have yet to receive the books. When did you get yours? Do you suppose I should be concerned that all of my big box of books went AWOL instead of just one? =/
