✉ Mailbox Monday ✉

Mailbox MondayGah! the weekend flew by and it’s time again for Mailbox Monday hosted by Marcia at The Printed Page.

It’s getting so close to Christmas so I’ve been avoiding the book sales lately and relying more on the Public Library. But I still got a wonderful pile of books this past week, one from a fellow blogger, a few ARCs that I had requested and a couple treats too.

Funny thing, the Hubs went on a major all-day  book expedition, searching for a couple older Star Wars books he needs for his series. However, his luck wasn’t so good, he may have to try eBay. On his bookish wanderings, he did come across a few books for me – including an awesome collection of Shirley Jackson works that were previously unpublished or uncollected - WooHoo!

Random Cool Book Snags

This snazzy book “Madeleine Is Sleeping” arrived in my mailbox, thanks to softdrink aka Jill @ Fizzy Thoughts!

Madeleine is a little girl who is sound asleep, many small interwoven stories make up Madeleine’s dreams…
but are the really only dreams?
It sounded so fantastically bizarre that I had to read it.

I’ve only read a few pages but I love it … Thanks again Jill

Sandra, I'm always impressed by husbands who buy their wives books. You're a lucky girl!

What a great pile 'o books, and what a thoughtful husband!

Can't wait to see what you think of Any Given Doomsday. I reviewed it awhile ago, and it's not the type of book I normally read.

I love that your husband buys you books! My husband likes to cook, so he's always buying cookbooks, but no fiction, alas. Your Shirley Jackson find sounds good. I read her two memoirs earlier this year and came away from the books liking her so very much.

I'm behind on my blogging (as usual), so I still have your "challenges and events" blog in my reader--looks like you deleted it? Anyway, I'm astounded at your organization--definitely gives me some ideas of how to organize my own challenges!! Love it.
