Library Loot – 04•02•09

Library Loot is a weekly event hosted by Eva of A Striped Armchair and Alessandra from Out Of The Blue.

To take part, simply let everyone know what you discovered on your latest trip to the Library. And don’t forget to check out what great books everyone else checked out this week for ideas for your own future library jaunts.

This fun event happens weekly, from Wednesday through to the following  Tuesday, with a new round beginning the next day. So it’s easy to participate no matter what day you visit the library.

My library visit this week was a quick run in and out, I usually always browse a bit, but when I walked in I saw that I had a ton of books waiting that I had requested online. One great thing about having an online library system is that as I’m reading through blogs and reviews if I spot a book I’m interested in I just pop over to the Library website and place a hold on it.

That picture shows exactly where I sit when I get home from the library. Right down on the floor, like a little kid at Christmas time, with my bookish loot spread around me. So here is what I picked up this week, and why.

I was weak...lol..I haven't been in the library since mid-November so I would have to finish the books I had at home, and I am now so close to done that I finally unpaused all my holds. I went to pick up ONE book, Plum Spooky, and came out with 16 books!

The books look great! The only one that I've heard of is the Windmill book. Have fun with your reading!

Wow - 11 books! How long do you get to keep them?

Thanks for sharing! I too sit on the floor (of my bedroom) when I get home from the library and sort through my loot. Nothing makes me happier than great finds at the library!

That's a good load of loot. I love the cover on The Girl in the Castle. I've heard good things about it. I can't wait to see what you think.

You're not supposed to take all of the books when you go to the library Joanne :p I've really been wanting to read The Girl in the Castle...looks really great! I might get that one too next time I go to the library. Come on over to the Dewey's Books Blog!

I do the same thing with my library's online request system! I just love using it, and the best thing for me is that I live right by a small branch, so I can select things that are actually on the shelves at the central location and "order" it to be sent to the branch location (which is at the end of the street).

Your description of a kid at Christmas time is very apt. Do you have any problems finishing all the great books you check out? I have tons of problems with that - I'm always renewing books and paying fines (minor fines now that I'm a book blogger, though!)
