Change of Address & Giveaway Winners

Monday again, hope everyone’s enjoyed a lovely weekend. This past week has been a very slow one here, but I do have my excuses/reasons. So, this week is basically going to be me clearing the accumulated sticky posts of life, to make way for a fresh new week.

Much as I would like to say the reason for my blogs lifelessness this week was due to a tropical vacation, it wasn’t. The simple excuse is that I became sick of having such a long web address. So I decided to obtain my own domain. Blogger assures me that all previous links will self-direct, but my trust in that is not very high – so fyi the brand spanking new address is www.TheBookZombie.com Now this is supposedly a painless process to switch over from blogger, but it’s not exactly swift or glitch-free. Over the last 7 days my site has appeared, disappeared and gone wonky. However, it seems to be stable now, thanks to some image-hosting adjustments and lots of encouragement, help and shared cussing from the always awesome Jill of Fizzy Thoughts.

A couple of weeks ago, I posted about Lawrence Hill’s The Book Of Negroes, which was a contender in the Canada Reads 2009 event. And I offered up 3 copies of this book for a giveaway which ended on the same day that the winning book of Canada Reads was announced. What a fabulous coincidence – Congratulations to Lawrence Hill !

And congratulations to the winners of my giveaway. The following three people have won their very own copy of The Book Of Negroes:

Teddy Rose
John Mutford
Alyce

Winners were chosen using Random.Org and I will be sending out emails to notify and request where the books should be sent very shortly.

I've been wanting to get rid of the "blogspot" too. Can I pester you and Jill with questions if I have trouble? :P

How nice, I know all three of the winners and they deserve it. Congratulations everyone, I am jealous, in a good bookish kind of way of course. :)

I switched my feed reader over to your new URL. Blogger gave me some hiccups when I went from a Blogspot address to BookishRuth.com. Annoying, but worth it in the end.

You are so brave to have changed your url! I thought about it, then chickened out. I've heard you get more traffic with your own domain name :)
