Getting Ready For 2009

Can you believe how close we are to the New Year? During the past year I have done lots of reading, and my reading has improved so much since I began blogging over the summer. I find it so enjoyable to write about books I’ve read, it broadens the pleasure that books give me, so that even after I’ve read that last page and closed the book I look forward to thinking about the experience and writing my thoughts. Reviewing books really allows a reader to stretch their reading to the limits.

I the past few months I have taken part in some cool challenges, some big ones, but mainly little ones, just dipping a toe to test the waters. In 2009 I hope to take advantage of the numerous challenges found around the reading community. So far I have dedicated myself to the following 4, but who knows what else may pop-up!

Those are four I could definitely join too! I'm thinking about it...

Gee, I totally adored all four books from Scott Westerfeld's Uglies Series. Maybe it's time to read the other books he's written :)

A lot of those are very very tempting. I want to keep my options open for now, but I can see myself starting to join challenges for next year soon too.

The library one looks pretty easy as I use my library all the time- both town and school.
I've read the first two in the Uglies series, so, I must think about this one.

Don't forget the Countdown in retroactive to 8/8/8. Have you read a bunch already? Probably

    Have fun!

    Thanks for summarizing all these!

I've signed up for 3M 2009 pubchallenge, but I have to look to see how I'd do with the 45 books countdown challenge.

I'm heading over to let J. Kaye know I'll be using my library card at her suggestion.

Ooh, have you read any of Westerfeld's books? I *loved* Peeps, and really enjoyed the Uglies series as well. I've got one of his adult sci-fi novels on my TBR stack; I'll have to give that a shot next year.
