Santa Has Just Left The Building…

Yes, you read that right, Santa has just been here and left behind a wonderful package for me. Well actually the package arrived yesterday, and I was completely devoted to leaving it under the tree until Christmas morning. However, patience not being one of my numerous talents, through blurry eyes I found myself looking at the clock around 2am this morning and damn if I wasn’t tearing into this scrumptious package :P

And here for your viewing pleasure and my enthusiastic showing-off-ness are the perfect goodies that my Secret Santa sent me.

First, is Wastelands an anthology of short stories that are all post-apocalyptic in theme. One of my favourite genres to read. Needless to say I’ve already read about half of this book – good stuff indeed!

Next is a gorgeous bookmark featuring the art of Anne-Julie Aubry, this particular scene is from her painting called ‘Spiral Of Dreams’ from her ‘Lost Key’ series. My computer has been sporting wallpaper from Aubry’s artwork ever since I discovered her on Carl’s blog Stainless Steel Droppings. This bookmark is so pretty I’m going hibernate the rest of my bookmarks and use this one only :)

And finally this totally kick-ass reading journal, my favourite part because I am a habitual note jotter, list maker and notebook junkie. I had to take extra pictures of this just so you could see how beautiful this journal IMG_0964is.

This is the blurb from the inside cover and I wanted to share it because it is the perfect sentiment for all readers, more than any other traveller in the world the reader is truly the one who experiences the most adventures.

This is what the pages themselves look like. All those wonderful info fields just waiting to be written on.

The pages themselves are also great, very thick, they feel lovely to the touch.

I can only imagine how wonderful it will feel to put a pen to these pages. But, I am saving this to be my Official 2009 Reading Journal! So not a scribble until January 1st :)

SQUUUEEE!! I’m so happy!

Wow, this is the most amazing gift, seriously I think my Secret Santa should make a career of this because this was just so perfect. And my Secret Santa revealed his true Super Secret Identity to me, thank the gods because I want to let him know just how much this meant to me. My Santa was Chris from Stuff As Dreams Are Made On!  Thanks so, so much for this Chris – you’ve made me one happy girl and I truly appreciate the thoughtfulness of your gift.

I also want to thank Nymeth for organizing the 2008 Christmas Swap. And thanks to Dewey, we are all thinking of you and wishing you the best of luck on your new journey.

Yay! I'm so glad it made it to you Joanne! I was worried it wouldn't get there in time. I'm thrilled that you like them so much. I didn't know what you would think of them, but it looks like I did good :) I'm especially happy that you like the bookmark. I didn't even know if you'd know who she was and now I find out that you're a big fan of Anne-Julie too!! Very cool. Enjoy them all!
