Volunteers for Dewey - please circulate!

This was originally posted by Florinda @ The 3 R’s
I have copy and pasted it in it’s entirety to spread the word.

I don't usually post twice a day, but these are special circumstances:
I mentioned in my post on Tuesday morning that one of the things we'd miss most about Dewey is her community-building activity, and that it would be wonderful if we could keep things like the Bookworms Carnival, the 24-Hour Read-a-Thon, and Weekly Geeks going as a legacy to her. But expecting one person to do all of those - or even all of ONE of those - is expecting a LOT, so I wondered if book bloggers might be interested in forming small groups or teams that would each take on one of the projects.
In throwing out that call for volunteers, it seems like I may have volunteered myself to coordinate this effort! My thinking is that once we have several people lined up for each project, those groups will spin off and work out the details among themselves, but I'd be glad to serve as the clearinghouse until we get to that point - or until it's coordinated with someone else's efforts (looking at Natasha at Maw Books Blog right now...).
Before I even put that post up, I had already exchanged e-mails with another book blogger concerning the Bookworms Carnival - that's the one I'd be willing to work on. Since the post went up, I've heard from several book bloggers who are also interested in continuing Dewey's projects, so I've started a list.
If you'd be open to working with one of Dewey's community projects as part of a group, please leave a comment on this post or e-mail me at 3.rsblog AT Gmail DOT com. If you're interested in a particular project, please let me know that too - one person has specifically mentioned interest in working on the Read-a-Thon.
Book bloggers: please re-post this on your blogs to help get the word out, and join the discussion Natasha has started in the Book Blogs Group on Ning! We are going to try to centralize our efforts there.
In related news, Becky at Becky's Book Reviews is taking the lead on a proposed Weekly Geeks #27:

I was thinking that it might be nice for those bloggers who are Weekly Geeks to pay tribute to Dewey in the next week or so. To take the time to post to their blogs a "Weekly Geek" post about Dewey...

Go read the rest of her post!
Also - I got an e-mail from Lisa Roe mentioning that she has Dewey's mailing address and would be glad to forward condolence cards to her family:

I think it would be wonderful for her family to see how loved and highly regarded Dew was to us all. I know it's a busy time for us all, but if the bulk of condolences could be sent to me within the next two weeks, I will send one large package to the family.

Please contact Lisa through her website (link above) to obtain her mailing address.
