Time for another Mailbox Monday hosted by Marcia at The Printed Page.

I don’t know what happened this past week – I was attempting to hold back on the book addiction. But the boys both had gift cards left from Christmas and they sent me to the bookstore with a list of books they wanted. What was I supposed to do? It’s not as though I am strong-willed enough to not browse! *sigh*

  In The Mail

Lives Of The Monster Dogs
(bookmooch)

Sum: Forty Tales From The Afterlife
(arc)

Fiction: A Novel
(arc)

Random Cool Book Snags

Bad Bloggers

Chris included a video of Plath on a recent post which made me want to re-read this.

Oh look at this - Chris again, he’s read a lot of DeLint and I liked the sound of this author.

Nymeth wrote an amazing review of this which made me desperate to read it myself.

Nymeth should really be the spokesperson for Hornby imo.

Lenore talked about the film version of this which looks awesome and I like to read the books first.

I've reviewed Ara 13's Fiction as well. (It was my very first ARC!) It's a decent book, but not as good as Drawers & Booths. Drags in some places, but also really funny in others.

Un.Bel.Iev.Able. that's a lot of books. Did you take it up a notch in how your blog looks? well, it looks great and maybe I just didn't notice before. You are too cool.

I ordered the Hornby Shakespeare book too after reading Nymeth's review.
The Giver is very good, my son liked it too.

lol, spokesperson for Nick Hornby - I like it :D (Hear that, Nick? Hire me!)

I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the books. And on The Giver too!

Also, I spot Adrian Mole! I was such a big fan of those books in my teens. I should re-read them someday.

Um...Wow! lol..Awesome awesome collection of books!! I still haven't read that de Lint but I've heard a lot of people say it's one of his best. It's short stories, isn't it? And you'll love The Bell Jar! It's fantastic! I've been wanting the Hornby books for so long! I'll have to get those soon. And I've heard really great things about The Wasp Factory. I hope you enjoy them all Joanne!!!

My goodness! You're going to have to call upon your reading superpower to get through these in a timely manner.

(They all look most excellent, though).

I think I tried to read Live of the Monster Dogs once and didn't get very far. Do let me know how it goes for you. Maybe I gave up too soon.

Wow, I'm speechless before your haul! (But I have to add that I didn't know that the movie Let the Right One In was based on a book.)

Happy reading!

Good Lord! That's a lot of books!! I'm on a major budget these days. I did get 3 ARC's in the mail, but I didn't have time to blog about them.

Nice haul!!

That's a lot of books! I requested Hornby from the library because of Nymeth. I was going to buy it, but I might read it and pick up a copy later. Charles de Lint is great, although I haven't read that particular book. I actually don't think I have read any of his short story collections. Only a few random stories in other collections.
